3 months old

Greyson turned 3 months on January 18th!  We don't have another doctor appointment until he's 4 months, so I don't know his stats, but here some new stuff about him!

  • He's still exclusively breast fed.  I can't believe I made it this long, considering the start we had!
  • He's still consistantly sleeping through the night!
  • He's discovered his hands, and thinks they taste mighty yummy!  He'll even hold onto his toys if we put them in his hands.
  • He can laugh!  Oh can that boy laugh.  And then I laugh too.  I can't help it!  It's the sweetest sound in the world!
  • He got to meet his Auntie Seville, and he loves her so!
  • He got lots of quality time with Grandma this last month!

    Oh, goodness. He is just too cute. I want to meet him. And all the pictures are great, but that first one just makes me smile. : )

Ectopic Rupture

     So, today I had a follow up with my Cardiologist.  "What in the world do you have a cardiologist for" is most peoples response to that.  On the 4th of July I ended up having emergency surgery for a ruptured ectopic pregnancy.  I thought it was food poisoning, which is why we waited so long to go to the emergency room, which is why I came very close to not living through this seemingly trivial medical condition.  Anyway, at the cardiologist, they took my vitals, and everything looks good.  But I saw the nurse practitioner today who was not there for the surgery and had no clue what happened, so he asked me to explain what happened leading up to the surgery and my need for a cardiologist.       I explained: I thought I had food poisoning.  We realized it was probably something more serious when I was fainting every time I tried to stand up.  About at this point all my memories are fuzzy at best....

My soapbox

I really don't get on here often enough, though it is more often than I write in my own journal. Rob and I are sitting here on the couch, each in our own respective little world. Me surfing the web, and reading my latest novel... this one is the 5th installment of the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, which I highly recommend. I have fallen in love with the characters and story lines! I could really move to Scotland after this! Rob is (I hope I don't embarrass him here) reading the first novel of Twilight! He has Twilight in one hand, and a thesaurus in the other hand...lol. I guess he is just trying to get his vocab up...though I don't know if I could really get into a book if I was stopping every other sentence and looking things up. I am glad he is trying though. He really does make me proud with how hard is is trying to improve his mind (or maybe just try to understand why I like the books so much...equally sweet), and get a job and provide for the lit...

Oh Happy Day

Well, I've made the big reveal already.  Perhaps a few days earlier that would be "socially acceptable," but I couldn't help myself!  From the minute I found out I was pregnant, I wanted to scream it out to the world!  Today I am 11 weeks 5 days pregnant!  It feels almost like a miracle, there were times that I really thought it might never happen. It all started on Valentines Day.  I knew it would be a little early to test, but due to the special day, I thought I'd try anyway, just in case. I tried a cheapo test first, and when I thought I saw a second line, but couldn't quite tell, I almost went crazy.  I dug out my special test I was saving for when I really thought it might be possible, and tried it right away.  When that "pregnant" sign came up, I clapped my hand over my mouth and stood like that for about 10 full minutes.  I didn't know what to do, and my mind wasn't processing anything in that moment.
